Sarah Sousa has been a reader/ judge of poetry book contests with Kore Press, Perugia Press and Red Mountain Press and has offered private manuscript editing services for four years. She was the founding and managing editor of the mini lit mag Queen of Cups. Her poems have appeared in The Massachusetts Review, Fugue, Verse Daily, Tuesday; An Art Project, Barn Owl Review, Southern Poetry Review and Fourteen Hills, among others. She was the 2015 recipient of the Anne Halley Poetry Prize from The Massachusetts Review and a 2016 Massachusetts Cultural Council Fellow. Her first collection Church of Needles, won the 2013 Red Mountain Prize and was published by Red Mountain Press in 2014; her second collection Split the Crow was published in 2015 by Parlor Press. Her third collection is forthcoming from CavanKerry Press in spring 2018. She is the editor and transcriber of The Diary of Esther Small, 1886 (Small Batch Books), winner of the New England Book Festival award for Regional Literature. She holds an MFA in poetry and literature from Bennington College.
